At the end of the school year, all of the third grade classes went on a field trip to Onyx Cave near Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The bus ride took around one and half hours from our school. We all brought light jackets because the temperature inside the Onyx Cave stays about 57 degrees year around. We then walked deep down into the cave, and we saw some bats that were hibernating on the ceiling of the cave. All the boys really enjoyed seeing the bats. Then after touring the cave, we went into the Onyx Cave gift shop. Most of the boys bought rabbit skins. The girls mostly picked out shinny rocks. Then we went to a park around Eureka Springs, Arkansas and had a picnic lunch that we had brought. The teachers let us play in the playground until everyone finished eating. Then we left for home. Most of the kids looked tired but everyone seemed to have a good time.
