Jack Anderson found the first diamond in the fall of 1899. Jack worked as a farmer and was leasing the property. After finding the diamond he purchased the property. Over the years the property has changed hand many times. There have been 15,000 diamonds discovered in the mine, but no one person has ever made a profit from this diamond mine. Several of the owners were unsuccessful at commercial mining. However, all the ventures whether private or commercial were shrouded in mystery; natural disasters, fires, shortage of funds and lawsuits hindered any mining operations. Today the diamond mine set tied up in a legal matter. So no one can do any mining on the property.
