The Pilgrims came to North America. It was a new world to them but the Native American Indians were already living there. The Pilgrims and Indians befriended each other. The Indians taught the Pilgrims how to survive on the land. The main thing they learned was how to farm the land. One year after a plentiful harvest they decided to celebrate. This celebration was the first Thanksgiving. They celebrated Thanksgiving together with plenty of food and good friendship. The Pilgrims and Indians feasted on corn, berries and vegetables. Today we celebrate the idea of a Thanksgiving. However, over time the traditions for Thanksgiving have changed.
