The sun was just starting to set. Corbin pulled up in front of Shelley's house and go out of his car. He nervously walked up the sidewalk to the front door. After pausing a few moments and taking a deep breath Corbin pushed the doorbell. Ding-Dong. The door slowly opened. Corbin stood there filled with excitement. Shelley's mother said "Hello." Corbin cleared his throat and said "Is Shelley here?" "One minute I'll get her." she responded. "Would like to come in?" she added. "No thanks I just have a few minutes," Corbin said. Corbin looked at his surroundings trying not to look as nervous as he really was. But all he could think about was seeing Shelley.
Corbin could hear someone approaching the door. Knowing in his mind that it was Shelley a smile started to become visible on his face. Shelley appeared at the door. "Hi," she said as she stood in the doorway. "Hi, I was on my way to the College for my night class," Corbin said. He paused and then continued, "I hope it's ok that I stopped by." "Sure I was just finishing my homework," Shelley stated. "I do have to get going because my class starts in 10 minutes," Corbin said. He looked down at the ground and slowly raised his head back up as he continued saying "I just wanted to see you even if it was just for a few minutes." Shelley's smile grew even bigger and her eyes sparkled. "It was nice that you stopped by, you should come back when you have a little more time," Shelley said in a sweet soft voice. Corbin turned and started to walk back to his car. As he stepped off the porch and onto the sidewalk he looked back and said "Bye." Shelley waved her hand and said "Bye."
Half way down the sidewalk Corbin heard the door shut. He slid into his car and pulled the door shut. This huge smile was still on his face and it was not going away any time soon. As he drove away all Corbin could think about was how nice and sweet Shelley was. He mumbled to himself "I'm definitely going back another day just to say hi."
